I have been a passionate traveler since I was a boy aged four, when I was bewitched by the canals, palaces and gondolas of wonderful Venice. Throughout my childhood, atlases and globes, stories about intrepid explorers (Thor Heyerdahl was a big hero of mine), TV holiday programmes and wildlife documentaries all fired my imagination. Attenborough and Cousteau were like gods! Since then I have visited nearly 100 countries and countless cities, islands and resorts on every continent (from Albania to Zanzibar), I have lived in eight different countries (including Argentina, France and Greece, specialist destinations of mine), I have written travel guidebooks (such as the Rough Guide to Argentina) and articles about fascinating destinations the world over. My other passion is sharing my love of travel with friends, family and clients - all of them appreciate my experiences, my deep knowledge, my amusing anecdotes and my adventures. And clients have come to trust my travel wisdom, my inside knowledge, my know-how and my contacts.
