Background
My story
I didn't set out to become a tour conductor — it happened naturally. I started as a solo traveler, spending months backpacking across Asia with nothing but a pack and an open itinerary. Friends started asking to join. Then they started asking me to handle the planning. What began as informal trips with people I cared about gradually became a profession. Asia — and Japan in particular — is where I feel most at home on the road. I've traveled the region across both extremes: long independent journeys where the schedule is made day by day, and refined two-week trips where every experience is chosen with care. That includes beachside escapes — Bali and Sri Lanka are two destinations I know deeply, both for the pace they offer and the details that make them genuinely restorative. That firsthand range is what I bring to every client. I know what it takes to move through these places well, because I've done it in almost every way possible.
Philosophy
My approach
I've experienced travel at both extremes — backpacking solo for 30+ days at a time, and leading carefully curated two-week luxury trips. That range shaped how I plan: pace before logistics, local knowledge over guidebooks, and always protecting space for the unplanned moment. Whatever the budget, the goal is the same — a trip that feels intentional, not just scheduled.
