Background
My story
I’ve spent over a decade moving through the world, not as a tourist ticking off destinations, but as someone trying to understand how people live, think, and connect. My journey has taken me across continents, from the structure of the UK to the layered, unpredictable rhythms of India, and into places where culture isn’t something you observe from the outside, it’s something you step into and become part of. I remember sitting on the floor of a small home in Assam, sharing food with people I couldn’t speak to in words. No common language, no plan, just presence. And yet, it was one of the most connected moments I’ve experienced. That’s when it really landed for me, travel isn’t about where you go, it’s about how deeply you allow yourself to arrive. Travel has never been an escape for me. It’s been exposure. Along the way I’ve worked in all sorts of environments, designing lighting for theatre and festivals, building cave systems for tourists, managing campsites, running bars. I’ve always preferred to embed myself into a place rather than pass through it, to understand not just the surface, but how it actually lives and breathes. What’s shaped me most isn’t how far I’ve travelled, but how deeply I’ve experienced it. I’ve seen loneliness in busy cities and connection in the simplest of settings. I’ve lived through independence and reliance, structure and chaos, belonging and isolation, often all within the same stretch of time. That’s changed how I see travel. It’s not something I consume. It’s something I learn from. And it’s something I now help others experience in a more meaningful way. Not just where to go, but how to be there. How to step into a place, rather than just pass through it, and leave with something that actually stays with you.
Philosophy
My approach
My planning style sits in the balance between structure and flexibility. I build clear, thoughtful frameworks, routes, timings, key experiences, so there’s direction and purpose from the start. But I never over-engineer a journey to the point it loses its life. I’m detail orientated in the sense that I think through the small things that shape an experience, how a day flows, where energy rises or dips, when to move and when to stay, how environments affect mood. It’s not just logistics, it’s about how the journey feels as it unfolds. At the same time, I keep everything adaptable. Travel rarely goes exactly to plan, and that’s often where the best moments happen. So I design with space built in, room to follow something unexpected, to slow down, or to shift direction when needed. In short, there’s always a plan. But there’s never pressure to stick to it blindly. Plan for the unexpected and never be surprised.
