Background

My story

Before anything else, I spent over 20 years working with senior leaders and organisations around the world - helping them think clearly under pressure, make better decisions, and cut through complexity. Most of that work came down to one thing: understanding people properly, not just what they ask for, but what they actually mean. That instinct hasn’t changed. Only the setting has. I once spent an entire afternoon in Chiang Mai trying to find the “perfect coffee shop” and ended up in a small Japanese-style coffee shop tucked away on a quiet street in the Old Town. It only had space for about 12 people. No laptops, no pushchairs, no background noise - just coffee lovers from around the world sitting quietly, paying attention. The owner worked behind the counter with precision and care - every movement deliberate, almost like watching a craft being performed rather than a drink being made. At one point I had espresso mixed with apple juice - unexpected, but balanced in a way that only works when someone really knows what they’re doing. And what stayed with me wasn’t just the coffee, but the atmosphere. Everyone was just… present. Watching the process. Appreciating it. No distractions (other than the pictures being taken). That’s how I approach travel. One trip I helped shape was for a father and son travelling through Malaysia. Alongside the key places worth seeing, we built in smaller, local experiences - like a visit to a national park on the north-western side of Penang Island with a local ranger. At one point, the ranger pointed out a snake resting high up in the trees after its meal - completely still, having taken a bird the day before. The rest of the walk slowed down after that. Less about ticking off wildlife, more about noticing what was actually around them. Small moments, shared reactions, things you don’t plan for but end up remembering. That’s the bit I care about. Some people just want a straightforward luxury beach break - somewhere beautiful, well chosen, and easy. Others want something more layered, with a bit of discovery built in. I help with both. The work is the same either way: understand what matters, remove the noise, and make it simple to get there. If you want a trip where you actually notice the world around you, not just move through it, let’s talk.

Philosophy

My approach

My approach is what I call 'Structured Freedom'. I typically plan around 60% of your trip in advance - logistics, timings, reservations - so everything runs smoothly and you’re not thinking about how the day fits together. The remaining 40% is left open. For example, I might pre-book a sunset dinner reservation, but leave the morning free for you to choose between a cooking class, exploring a local market, or simply staying by the pool without feeling like you should be somewhere else. The aim is simple: everything important is handled, but there’s still space to follow your mood in the moment - without guilt, pressure, or decision fatigue.
